benki hiyo mwaka jana mara baada ya kutoa msaada wa wa 5m/- kusaidia
ununuzi wa vifaa katika chumba cha wanawake wagonjwa mahututi katika
hospitali hiyo.

kusadia ununuzi wa vifaa katika wodi ya akina mama katika hospitali ya
rufaa KCMC ikiwa ni jitihada za kupunguza vifo vinavyoweza kuepukika
kwa akina mama wajawazito,

wakati wa makabidhiano ya hundi ya fedha hizo uliofanyika hospitali
hapo jana, Meneja wa Benki ya KCB Tawi la Moshi Lomnyaki Saitabau
alisema kuwa msaada huo ulikuwa ni muendelezo wa msaada ambao benki
hiyo iliutoa mwaka jana.
Mwaka
jana tulikarabati chumba cha akina mama wagonjwa hatuti kwa gharama
ya zaidi ya shilingi milioni kumi na moja. Nilipofamishwa kuwa chumba
kilikuwa tayari lakini hakuna vifaa niliona kuna umuhimu kutoa msaada
wa kununulia vifaa ili pesa iliyotolewa kwanza isiwe imepotea bure,”

huyo wa tawi alisema kuwa Benki yake imeamua kutoa msaada huo kwa
kutambua umuhimu wa kusaidia serikali katika kupunguza vifo vya mama
na mtoto na kuhakikisha kuwa malengo ya millennia ya kuhakikisha kuwa
vifo vya akina mama na mtoto vinakwisha kufikia mwaka 2015.
Akipokea
msaada huo, Kaimu mkurunzi wa hospital ya KCMC Profesa Raimos Olomi
alisema kuwa msaada huo utasaidia kupunguza vifo vya akina mama na
watoto katika hospitali hiyo kutokana.
Vifo
vya akina mama na watoto hapa nchini bado ni vingi. Jitihada kubwa
zinahitajika kuvipunguza. Kupitia misaada ya wadau mbalimbali kama huu
wa Benki ya KCB lengo linaweza kufikiwa. Tunaishukuru sana Benki ya
KCB kwa msaada huu muhimu.
Kwa
upande wake mkuu wa idara ya magonjwa ya wanawake hospitalini hapo Dr
Gileard Masenga alisema kuwa hospitali hiyo haikuwa na wodi ya akina
mama mahututi na kuongeza kuwa msaada huo utasadia kuokoa maisha ya
akina mama na watoto.
Mwanzoni
tulikuwa tunalazimika kuwapeleka akina mama kwenye hodi za wagonjwa
hahututi ambazo wagonjwa wote wanatibiwa. Tunaamini msaada huo
utasaidia kuboresha hali na hivyo kuokoa wakina mama wengi zaidi.

KCB
Bank Tanzania, has donated 5m/-to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical
Centre (KCMC) in Moshi to facilitate the procurement of equipments for
women Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Speaking
during the cheque handing over ceremony held at the hospital
yesterday, KCB Bank branch manager for Moshi Lomnyaki Saitabau said,
the donation was continuation of donation that the bank issued to the
hospital last year
“Last
year we donated over 11m/- to facilitate the renovation of women ICU
room. When I asked and informed that the room was ready but it was not
in as there was no required equipments I felt that there was a need
to provide support again so that the first donation to be meaningful,”
he elaborated
The
branch manager noted that, KCB decided to support maternal health at
the hospital to complement the government efforts to reduce maternal
death that can be prevented and the realization of Millennium
Development Goal (MDG) number 4 to reduce maternal death by 2015
This
donation is not very big but I believe it can make a significant
difference by saving the needy women who die because of lack of enough
facilities to save their lives and that of their new born,” he said
KCMC
acting director Professor Raimos Olomi said, the donation was a big
push to the hospital adding that it would help to save lives of women
and their new born who die as a result of pregnancy complications
“There
still a lot of maternal death incidences here in Tanzania. In order
scale down the deaths, a lot is to be done if the death rate is to be
done and this requires support from different stakeholders. Today, KCB
has once again shown its true commitment to save the women and
children. We are grateful to this important support,” he said
On
his side, the head of Obstetric and Gynecology Dr Gileard Masenga
said, the hospital had no special ICU room dedicate for women with
pregnancy complications stressing that the donation would make a
difference
“At
the beginning women with pregnancy complications had to use the
general ICU room. We believe this donation would facilitate to procure
some of the required equipments and thus assist to save lives of
women and their new born. We are grateful to KCB Bank for investing in
women health,” he said
